Modernizing Fidelity’s processing backbone — I led the migration of legacy servers to Windows NT and oversaw desktop deployments for hundreds of end-users at their main processing facility.

Challenge

Fidelity needed to modernize its IT foundation by moving away from aging legacy servers in its main processing facility. The company required a secure, stable, and scalable infrastructure to support critical operations.

I was responsible for migrating all legacy servers to a standardized Windows NT environment, providing the backbone for Fidelity’s next generation of processing systems.

In addition, I managed the workstation deployment team, ensuring that hundreds of end-users transitioned smoothly to the new platform. While I did not perform the workstation deployments myself, I oversaw planning, resourcing, and issue escalation to keep the program on track.

Key contributions included

  • Server Migration Leadership – Executed the full migration of Fidelity’s legacy servers to Windows NT, standardizing infrastructure at their main processing facility.

  • Workstation Deployment Oversight – Directed the team responsible for desktop migration across hundreds of systems, ensuring consistent rollout and end-user readiness.

  • Operational Continuity – Ensured the migration was completed without disruption to Fidelity’s mission-critical processing operations.

  • Enterprise Coordination – Partnered with business and IT stakeholders to align server migration and workstation deployment schedules with minimal downtime.

Outcome

The migration established a modern, standardized Windows NT server and desktop environment at Fidelity’s primary processing facility. This project demonstrated my ability to lead both the technical execution of large-scale server transformations and the management of parallel workstation deployments at enterprise scale.
